Ideas for movie trailer

Our movie idea is a romantic comedy based upon a girl who dreams of being the popular kid in school but is the school reject. Our Movie trailer we'll show a scene where she is confidently walking down a hallway, looking sexy and boys passing out at the sight of her. She is daydreaming. It then shows her looking very geeky in the same hallway, boys laughing at her and maybe dropping her books and falling over. Then scenes with friends and witty one liners, showing a possible love interest in the film leaving the audience to think 'will she become popular?... will she get with the guy?'. We wanted to make a film trailer that brings excitement and comedy to the audience, even though it is a amateur, cheap production.

Film Industry

There are three areas to the film industry;
The Production of the film takes time and money, creating and recording scenes, adding special effects, music and finally editing it all together.
The Distribution of the film takes money and connections, paying cinemas to show your production, making contracts and agreements for the premiers at big cinemas, creating merchandise and possible sequels.
The Exhibition of the film is watching the film at cinemas, buying the merchandise and the money culminating into evidence to make a sequel.
All three areas are vital for the success of any film.

Key Components of a Film Trailer

The key components of any film trailer are the codes and conventions within it.
Words you see are; the title of the film, the producers, famous actors and/or director.
Sounds you hear are; the voiceover, sound effects and added music.
The basic plot of the film is usually told but sometimes is also kept a mystery.
Shots of the film are either shown in short vague segments or showing a long clip to entice the audience in to watch the rest and to keep the mystery of the films content still hidden.
